You didn't say anything about GE being around forever. That is slang for "I'm not saying they are infallible". As for your easy way out, that is a simple trick for not being skilled enough to attack it at any level...so you apply the "Clinton" approach and disregard it in an offhand manner and say it is full of contradictions but "appease" me by saying I am right.
