I have a suspicion that Ericsson anticipated and may still that they would have some CDMA2000 business in S. America. Those operators have been pretty quiet about their 3G plans recently. Also, Ericsson may be expecting that it can gain N. American CDMA2000 market share with it. It is a curiosity though.
