Additional points to condsider following the prior post...

1. If we are anywhere near the bottom (big if , I guess), what are the downside risk, as opposed to a potential reaction to the upside in the near term ?

2. Another important period to look is that of 1973 to 1982
From the top in early 1973 (around 1040), it bottom in 1975 at around 584 for a near 44 % decline.... then it took all the way to 1982 to reach the highs of 1973

So.... I guess, that if the economy and/or the psychology of the market is as bad as those three periods, (particularly during the depression) we could still go further down to match the 1929-32 era. (another 29 % from a year ago highs.... or.... a low of less than 700 to match the 87 % decline of the depression).

Are we in such bad shape ? or could the sentiment get to such levels ?

Futures continue up about 22 pts. (for now)
