stsimon,
i don't think anyone here would disagree with that assessment of sell-side analyst function; it's more the false advertising aspect that galls. they really did imply, even state, that they would make joe 6pac rich. they need an fda-type disclaimer added to all their picks: "using this data can cause poverty".
ed, thanks a lot! my paragraphs are muttermuttermuttermutter....... and that's my story, and i'm sticking to it. another english major to contend with!
we don't hit bios here at all, and since they were once, in a time long ago and a land far away, the light of my life i offer this article on one. the article doesn't mention it, but this co., eln, has bought all of, or large parts of, so many bios that it is almost a mutual fund in its own right. i don't own any now but will climb back in under 50. something will happen, i almost guarantee it, to get this stock back down there sooner or later. i traded in and out on its peaks and valleys last year from 28 to 50. increased my respect for the irish inordinately.

p.s. this chart will give you a look at its choppy pattern with the underlying strength still there. typical of adrs to chop a lot. if we really are about to hit a triple top it may just break on out, but i rather hope not.
