Zeev, the whole point of the gold standard is so governments can't just print money when they want... IMO it's a moot point because gold is still an internationally recongnized thing a value [currency if you will], and when governments get out of control, their currencies fall... the U.S. has been throught the biggest boom in the history of the planet and the currency has remained very strong in relation to gold. In the coming period of tought love and recession the government in going to see it's paper devalued substantially again gold IMO... heaven forbid it stops being the worlds reserve currency, the ramifications of this are unspeakable.
