PCCW, Hutch telecom workers linked to scam, 18 arrested 10:20 03-MAR-2001 Eighteen people, including serving and ex-staff members of PCCW-HKT and Hutchison Global Crossing, were arrested by the ICAC on Thursday for their connection to a corruption scam, the anti-graft agency said in a statement last night. The suspects, whose positions in the companies were not indicated, were alleged to have accepted bribes for disclosing service subscribers personal information to loansharks. They include two former and four serving members of PCCW-HKT, two serving members of Hutchison Global Crossing and a contractor attached to Hutchison's offices. The other nine included eight suspected loansharks and debt collectors. They were still in custody except one who had been released on ICAC bail.
