Compaq, IBM, Dell and HP have had 2 Intel CPU 1U servers for a year now.

They sell Intel based Dual 1U servers as well.

Someone tell these people about SCSI.

Don't forget that these are probably $1,000 units. SCSI would blow your budget and be the least bang for the buck component.

No ECC mentioned.

It says: ECC Capable Yes

Better bolt this baby down good so it doesn't take off. Highest fan to CPU ratio in history.

Some of these units have 2 single CPU or 2 dual CPU motherboards: racksaver.com
I don't think Compaq, IBM, Dell or HP have this.

Anyway, when you start counting fans:
Power supply: 1 or 2
CPU: 1 (or 2 for dual)
Northbridge: 1
Case: 1 - 3 is not unusual, especially in 1U cases, where the fans are small, and don't generate as much airflow as regular 80mm case fans.
