Joe, So 70% of Intel server CPUs are going to single or dual servers, and will be potentially exposed to competition later this year from AMD. Only 30% of the server CPUs will be shielded from AMD competition.

Long as they're all from companies like RackSaver™, not much threat. OK, someone with a little more clue will use AMD. Also, there is revolutionary packaging development going on right now in the 1-2-4 way server space. The OEMs are working furiously to get this new concept out, and anything they can eliminate, like looking at an alternative CPU chip supplier, will be done. Also, low power is critical in this packaging scheme, something AMD has been ignoring. Amazingly, one startup server company getting a lot of attention is using Transmeta. Guess they'll look if you have something a lot different, like sub watt CPUs.
It'll be interesting.
