New York, March 5 (Bloomberg) -- Prudential Securities Inc. analyst Hans Mosesmann cut ratings on 15 semiconductor stocks to ''hold.''

With the exception of Intel Corp., Mosesmann said in a note to clients that he has eliminated all ''accumulate'' ratings because the ''rating provides limited value for investors in the current environment.''

Mosesmann cut Atmel Corp., Cree Inc., Insilicon Corp., Lattice Semiconductor Corp., Microchip Technology Inc., Pericom Semiconductor Corp., Sage Inc. and STMicroelectronics NV to ''hold'' from ''strong buy.''

He reduced Alliance Semiconductor Corp., Altera Corp., ARM Holdings Plc, ATI Technologies Inc., LSI Logic Corp., Nvidia Corp. and OmniVision Technologies Inc. to ''hold'' from ''accumulate.''

Mosesmann said he cut the ratings to emphasize his ''strong buy'' rated stocks: AXT Inc., Emcore Corp., Micron Technology Inc., Texas Instruments Inc. and Xilinx Inc.

He said he also cut the ratings to be clear and consistent with his view of the semiconductor cycle and environment over the past several months.
