. The hospice approach is that death is a natural and good outcome of the process of life.

Hospice is a wonderful improvement. I'm glad to see the program gaining credence. Were it not for hospice, I would be much more vociferous in my complaints about the inhumane extension of life against the will of the individual. Hospice mitigates many of the ill effects, but does not work for everyone. In addition, there is a principle at stake.

I agree with you that the abortion thing is unresolvable. I'm not sure about this one. Abortion has been debated to death. Death has not. I don't think society has ever openly aired it's feelings about death. Most people haven't even thought much about their individual feelings about their own death. We all die. Funny that we talk about it rarely and only in code words. I'd like to see society air it out rather than bury it. (All puns inadvertent but serendipitous. Kind of like grubs.)
