How does one "lock up" talent these days? Stock options don't hold much attraction just now (though they should if one looks far enough ahead). "Lock up" was a poor choice of words. Buying a company, or division, assures you'll have some talent but certainly doesn't lock them up permanently. Having talked to many in the industry --- including a few from LU --- I know it's difficult to leave a secure job if you have a family and want the security of retirement, health care, steady salary, and so on. Not everyone jumps ship with each new offer. Options ---- the siren's call. . . Pat
