Eugene, while there may be upgrades to things like .13 micron processes, isn't the big money for the semi equip guys when the semis build new fabs?

Why would the semis build new fabs when they are in overcapacity now and to some degree capital market constrained? (Does everybody really (i) believe INTC will not cut capex; and (ii) all other semis will therefore follow INTC's lead?) That was the same argument (they have no choice because their competitors are doing it) that led to a lot of misplaced bets on telecom capex.

Back to shorting AMAT which was a nice 8 point ride last time out. Maybe I'm wrong, wrong, wrong, but it's hard to see how the semi equips can get much traction until the semis themselves consistently exceed B2B of 1.
