But X is not a real person. Try to remember that. This makes me wonder how many people that post here do so as a persona not really as themselves. I personally have never posted using such a persona on an internet discussion group or on a BBS except as part of a role playing game or shared interactive fiction. Even though I don't use a persona anyone reading my posts only gets a limited idea of who I truly am. You see part of me, mainly how I react in debate and serious discussion and my ideas about a few issues. Has anyone on this message thread ever met someone online esp. in a message thread like those on SI and then went on to form an offline personal relationship with them? Tim
