Eric. I do enjoy your contributions. You have clearified much of your original post for me. I do care what others on the thread think of me -- although I do use this NOK thread to blow off some steam.

I remain confused about part of your answer:

Is there an international standard for determining these real life data rates, or would each manufacturer determine his own based on the "honor system". If the answer is the later case, do you think all of the manufacturers would interpret the honor system in approximately the same way? It seems to me that some of them are prone to exagerate.

I am interested in your experience with the KYO Smartphone.
