I think the President would have to appoint a new VP or the Speaker of the House would assume the role. Wasn't Ford the Speaker and got to be President by becoming the VP then President after Nixon resigned?

This is too many problems in too short a time for something NOT to be wrong. If nothing else, he is under too much stress. I would believe it to be unacceptable for the VP to be hospitalized for heart problems every few months. His health should come first and I don't think anyone expects him to die for his job. Everyone who has been in the Presidential position has aged TONS over his term. We'll see what happens but I agree with you.....it doesn't look good.
