biz.yahoo.com Fiber optic components maker New Focus Inc. (NasdaqNM:NUFO - news) said on Monday it will lay off about 22 percent of its workforce in China and 8 percent of its U.S. workers amid recent order cancellations that prompted the company to lower revenue forecasts. San Jose, Calif.-based New Focus said it will lay off 260 of its 1,200 workers in Shenzhen, China, and 70 of its 900 workers in the United States.
