Glenn, re: retail investors It makes you wonder why ML insists that its analysts have a Series 7 license -- the same license that stockbrokers are required to have. It might also make you wonder why you and your ML broker might have to pull teeth to get those in-depth reports whereas some reporters seem to get a hold of them on a pretty timely basis. I doubt it is smart for Blodget to be mounting a defense via comments to the press. I don't know if what he has said will ever result in any financial hardship to his employer, but it might bring some unwanted scrutiny.
