So what? That is completely irrelevant. There is so much difference between England and US, and saying gun control is what makes the difference is illogical. California with is high crime rate and strict gun control laws is a much better apple to apple comparison to the other states.

In France, unlike here, people speak French and the violent crime rate is lower. Does that mean speaking French reduces violent crime?

No it is not a "no brainer", you just wanted it to be. There is no clear evidence that indicates stricter gun control results in reduction of violent crime. And you keep dropping one liners and irrelevant statistic does not change this.
