"What if?"
Fortunately, that is not the case. God created everything, and when He was done He pronounced it to be "very good".We are the ones who turned away from Him, and we are now experiencing the consequences of our disobedience. We dare not demand Justice, for that would result in eternal damnation for every one of us.

The reason that there is a universal sense of right and wrong in humans is because God has written His Law on our Hearts. Only through a deliberate, and concerted effort, is it possible to suppress this truth. There is a conflict of interest when it comes to acknowledging God's existence, because if we acknowledge His existence, we must also allow that we are responsible to Him. Unfortunately, Woody Allen was not alone in saying, "The heart wants what the heart wants". Some if not all of us would prefer that God did not exist, so that we might continue to do the things that we know in our hearts are wrong, but we do them anyway.

God is Holy, Just, and altogether Righteous. He will never act in contradiction to His character. That knowledge allows me to trust Him, even when I do not completely understand the hows and the whys of life. Like the song says, "When you can't trace His hand, trust His heart.". If you want to know what His heart for us, is like, look to the Cross. The justice that God's character demands was satisfied (propitiated), by Jesus Christ on that cross, and now He can be merciful to us without violating His character. Of course you do not have to accept that mercy and grace if you do not want to, but you are not free to determine the consequences of that refusal.
