Harvey, Re: The Sandra Memory benchmark ALU/FPU is now 627/791

Not bad! I managed to increase my scores to around 610/780 with a few optimized BIOS settings and the latest 1.003 BIOS without overclocking. You may want to try if your memory runs stable at CL2, too.

So far I think the Asus is one of the best DDR boards. E.g. from all I tested so far it was the only one which runs with AGP 4x (all others revert to 2x). The only thing I don't like are the missing multiplicator dip switches and the fact that it has only five PCI slots.

BTW, I also tested some VIA Apollo Pro 266 DDR boards (PIII) and they are really wasted money. One of them (the MSI Pro266 Master) has both SDR and DDR DIMMs. When I tested it with SDR it was even faster in most benchmarks! (except Sandra) VIA should really have concentrated their DDR efforts on Athlon first. Athlon and DDR is a perfect match IMO.
