When I became a Boy Scout the biggest badge was being able to acquire the BSA pocket knife. Every boy I knew had one and carried it proudly. We would all be expelled today for carrying a weapon. Never heard of one being used even though there were many scuffles and fights. Just about every car in our parking lot had guns in them. We all went hunting after school. Brought our 22's to school and kept them in our locker so that we could take our hunter safety course in the gym after school. Never heard about a gun being used for anything other then hunting. We had a bit of fear in those days. Fear of our God, fear of our parents, teachers, and any other adult authority figure. Seems the adults of the world were more concerned in us making civilized choices then they were in building up our self esteem. You knew when you did something wrong that there would be a consequence. Today much of that does not seem true anymore IMO..
