Bill: Thanks for the clarification on the "giving up" on Matridigm.

Actually, I think the MAP2000 product has good potential, and I'd like to see it succeed. It's obviously a finely engineered piece of software written by folks who were very meticulous in their approach.

Unfortunately from an environmental perspective, they somehow decided that the needs of the few outweigh the needs of the many (apologies to Star Trek fans who recognize the similarity to Spock's almost last words). Again, I blame that primarily on the IBM bigots at the top. IBM stalwarts historically have been disenchanted with vendors' tools that compete with their own. And, usually, the vendors built the tools because IBM did a mediocre job of creating their version of it. So, the vendors' tools got strongholds in the marketplace. For Matridigm not to support them is a major strategy error.

It would be a shame to see Matridigm's financial supporters "give up" when the technology is in its infancy and they can just begin to see the tip of the iceberg.

Good luck,

TED
