No I don't expect it, even though I think it is necessary. I'm inclined to think I'll be disappointed in humanity if my analogs are any prediction. No species has ever been able to anticipate and react to changes that produced its extinction in the time frame in which we will have to respond. I haven't given up yet, though. I'll continue to spread my views until I die.

If I was to guess, I'd put it at 10-20% that we will survive these forces intact (meaning keeping the majority of our culture, economy, health and technology). Quite honestly, we need to grow an extended awareness faster than I think humanity is capable of or willing to growing one. But, heck, humanity has already survived some pretty incredible odds and calamities.

The Internet is helping, BTW, otherwise I'd say the chances were about 0%. Religious beliefs are a major barrier as they are being interpreted now by orthodox religious figures. I think the revolution will have to come from (or at least embraced by) the clergy giving people permission to make the necessary changes to their lives. The clergy tends to be reactionary, though.
