JDN,

The fact that it is an artery problem doesn't diminish it's seriousness. Two large arteries stem from our hearts. One is the pulmonary artery which carries blood from the heart to the lungs to pick up oxygen and the other is the aorta which channels the blood from the heart to the major arteries. Failure of function in either equals death. The coronary arteries in the heart supply the heart with blood ( oxygen and nutrients ) and a blockage in one of them will cause a decrease in the ability of the heart to function and certainly can cause death also. A heart attack is caused by a blockage in any vessel ( arteries and veins also) that stops oxygen and nutrients from reaching the cells in the heart muscles and cause them to cease function.
The heart doesn't work well afterwards or stops completely depending on which cells were affected.

Cheney's travels may have to include a cardiac team and equipment. What the Dr.s have been asked to say and what's true are two different things.
