The Zip disk price certainly will decline - over time. I don't doubt that this is part of the Iomega plan. But IO is selling all it (and its partners) can produce at the current price levels - - so why should they drop the price? The art here is to sell as much as you can at the highest price you can.

As installed base of Zips increase - which will cause zip disk sales to increase - I am sure that the unit price will come down. This has to be done so as not to jeopardize profits.

About becoming the standard...dunno. I think we may see multiple 'standards' for removable storage. However, I do think that IO is ahead of the pack by an almost insurmountable lead, and that they will profit tremendously - even if they don't make it into every SKU.
