It was an exaggeration. I didn't mean to say that HS teachers were teaching this. What happens is that when history is taught sometimes only the highlights are concentrated on and if you start the nuke age with Hiroshima without the background many average students could make the wrong assumption---much like watching an Oliver Stone movie. Someone did a survey a few years ago with high schoolers I believe and got this kind of results.. Many Japanese define the war by the atomic bomb drops as well and unlike the Germans, they have not come to terms with what they did. Mike
