Limtex, there should be some slowdown in OEM sales, at least for seasonal reasons. Furthermore, we may assume that SNDK will allow price discounting in order to reduce excess inventory. However, to the extent that sales come from products already in inventory (i.e., manufactured in earlier quarters), the costs for that inventory have already been accounted for in the earlier quarter. Thus, if total sales are less than for the previous quarter, total profits may hardly change.

As for anecdotal evidence, in an earlier post, I mentioned that the largest photo store in Rochester continues to have a complete turnover of its flash memory cards in less than a month. This is not a discount store, so anyone can get similar products from online retailers at less cost. That fact is even more significant because it shows how strong the retail sales remain.
