Yes, but there is a cap and all this carry forward business.
Why shouldn't capital gains and losses be treated equally?
Will they let us carry forward capital gains in the hopes
of offsetting future losses?

And don't even get me started on AMT. Why should we have
to pay taxes on unrealized gains? That is a classic
example of the government saying, "We want to participate
in the upside today but you get stuck with any potential
downside tomorrow".

Can you tell I am for fairer/lower taxes <G>?
