I don't think it would play like that. At worst (if Slick claimed unlimited pardon power), the answer is "OK, you have unlimited pardon power, but you have no power to accept bribes; in fact, that is specifically mentioned in the Constitution as grounds for impeachment. Up against the wall and put your hands behind your back. You have the right to remain silent...."
