OT: JohnG, "Sweeds have a great love for things they are good at and a great distain for things they don't understand"
Well, "Sweeds" may surprise you if you stop reading Reader's Digest for a minute. We may very well be the least nationalistic country in the western world -except when we, for a change, have to play Finland in the finals of the World Championship in icehockey. Most Swedes don't know the words of their national anthem (because we never sing it, except after meeting the Finns in the above final -the violence of the Viking era still troubles us, we don't have a Swedish flag at home. We love everything foreign, in every sense of the word, to the extent that Nokia is our cellphone of choice and btw we are probably more americanized than many of the "real" 50 states - of course we are better educated, have a higher standard of living, are far ahead in the use of PC's, the internet, cellphones, have more beautiful women and so on, but still..
Chauvinistic we are not...
