For me, the ultimate arbiter of right and wrong is God.

Since God isn't always instantly accessible to me, though, I often have to determine right and wrong other ways.

I become the primary, but not necessarily ultimate as with you, judge. And only for myself. I don't pretend to know what's right and wrong for anybody else (except for my children when the were still developing.) I certainly have ideas, but not the ultimate decision.

It's not as easy a question for me to answer as it seems to be for you. In some cases, I defer to the law--if they say it is wrong for me to throttle somebody, even if my innate sense tells me it's right, I accept that it's wrong. In other situations, such as religious practice, it can be a combination of me and other people or factors.

But ultimately, it's God.
