Ted most of those 300,000,000 or so guns are not likely to be a danger to anyone. The number itself isn't scary to me I would go long periods of time without even seing one (except on TV or in a movie) and I have never been shot at (unless you count being shot at with a gun loaded with blanks and with MILES gear).

Let me tell you from experience, its when you least need to see one is when they have a habit of showing up. And the odds are very much in favor of that happening several times in our lifetime.
