UTEK is an example of a fantastic short, that turned into a great long.. We spent a lot of time discussing and dissecting this one (also DPMI, CCMP) and these there are 'protected' much like a Gorilla's habitat as they are institutional favorites. So far be it for us to rewrite institutional policy, we take them when they trigger long and take them short when they do the reverse.

I have absolutely no desire, need or ambition to take them home not even UTEK.. Tomorrow I suggest we look at UTEK and see if it plays into a short or a long. We look at all these with a traders eyes first and foremost and only gently and gradually will we see about holding. There is PLENTY OF TIME to get embroiled into another fiasco in this market and I know first hand how any did not listen when we talked about the ENORMOUS P/E's in late September and Early October. Every post here on this thread, every suggestion here is just a trading possibility and a request to put up a chart, and track for momentum using due dilligence. A WATCH LIST. We leave the hyping out, we don't need it, we don't hold stocks anyhow so we don't really care what happens to them when we are through trading them. Our credo and philosophy is simply "Find 'em, Milk 'em, Dump 'em", a trader's philosophy, so if there are those that visit this thread with picks, we mean no prejudice if we didn't follow them, we don't even KEEP our own, if they trigger we buy, if they won't we won't. SIMPLE. WE have seen the results of investing and frankly, its not for me. When we get back slowly into holding companies with good earnings we might hold a bit longer. We are approaching the new earning season and we are planning to work hard on picking up some of the 'creme de la creme' for possible swing trades, little by little maybe a week or two hold, assuming there is anything left that we fancy.

All I can say is those that did go short enjoyed a feast and those that were stubbornly holding on to outdated and 'pacifiers' handed down by their brokers, money managers, investor counselors... lost. We tried, we posted and we shorted.. Now the shorting is mostly intraday with a casual "take home" short or put. And now we prepare for another day tomorrow....
