patrick you're running win200pro, right? did you create a win2000 emergency repair disk when things were running good? it's a single floppy disk. you can restore settings from there. or did you create the 4 setup disks, including the boot disk? you can use the win2000 'recovery console' from those disks. or i think you can use the recovery console from the w2k cd. the w2k 'getting started' manual has more on that. hope this helps :) mark
