Insightful Appoints Sam Meshberg, Art Reidel and Mark Ozur to Board of Directors
New Board Members to Help Drive Company's Strategic Growth and Development
SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 6, 2001--Insightful Corporation (Nasdaq:IFUL - news), formerly MathSoft, Inc., a leading provider of solutions for predictive analysis, data mining and business intelligence, today announced the appointment of Sam Meshberg, Art Reidel and Mark Ozur to its board of directors.
Collectively, these executives bring extensive experience in building and growing sustainable, long-term shareholder value in high-tech companies.
Meshberg, Reidel and Ozur bring specific expertise that will benefit Insightful as it continues to establish itself as an independent player, following its divestiture of MathSoft's Engineering and Education Products Division (EEPD) on Jan. 23, 2001. Current Insightful board members include Chris Covington, General Partner of Covington Associates, Shawn Javid, president and chief executive officer, Insightful Corporation and former MathSoft chairman, president and CEO, Charles Digate who will serve as chairman of the board until at least July. Meshberg, Reidel and Ozur will occupy the board positions being vacated by Walter Pile, June Rokoff and David Martin.

Meshberg is president of FMIS, an investment company providing financial and investment services for select private investors. His expertise as a financial manager and chief executive includes strategic planning, organization building and financial management for growing businesses. While president of Philson and chief financial officer of Emson, both privately-held manufacturing businesses, his business development know-how and operations acumen culminated in the steady growth and high value sale of both businesses.
Reidel is chairman, president and chief executive officer of Pharsight Corporation (Nadsaq:PHST). Immediately prior to joining Pharsight, he provided consulting services to start-ups as well as established companies in the high-tech arena. Reidel's experience also includes serving as vice president of business development for Viewlogic Systems, Inc., and president and chief executive officer of Sunrise Test Systems, Inc., a privately held software firm acquired by Viewlogic.
Ozur brings more than 20 years of experience in computing and telecommunications from start-ups to Fortune 1000 companies. Currently, Ozur is chief technical officer for edge2net, a $100 million-a-year global provider of international telecommunications services. Prior to edge2net, he was president and chief executive officer of PulsePoint Communications, a publicly traded telecommunications enhanced services company. Earlier in his career he was vice president, engineering for Precision Visuals, Inc., and served in a variety of software development roles for Digital Equipment Corporation.
