Here's the way I think it will play out. << about "Faith Based Initiatives". >> In Juneau there are three glory holes. Two are giant holes in the ground resulting from old mine-caveins. (They are really big-- I've seen them!) The third is a soup kitchen for the homeless.

As far as I know, The Glory Hole is NOT faith-based. However, the churches and service clubs often support it with food, money, or person-power for serving meals.

There's no reason why churches, synagogs, or mosques could go together in a consortium like the Glory Hole in every city in the U.S. Why does it have to be single-faith??? In fact, it could be a requirement that two or more religious organizations work together on a Glory Hole. That way the Church of Scientology, the Buddhist Temple, and the International Church of Elvis (Yes, there is one!) could all participate.

Of course any organization that is out for its own gratification might object to this plan. That would be a good indicator of how legitimate it is.
