Delta? I typed a long post to John Pitera on Delta a week or two ago and it disappeared in the ether. It was discouraging to think of trying to type it all in once again.

I first read about it in a Futures magazine, probably Futures Magazine, around 15 years ago. Used a program that Wilder had on an Apple ][ + so perhaps it was even earlier than that, as Lisa / Macintosh were out by that time. At the time Wilder was asking for thirty-five thousand dollars to become a director. So I guess it was 1985 or 1984. I had a few bucks at the time and I remember considering it. I never would have considered it earlier than that, I was in no position to.

But I did not and when the book came out I was interested in seeing what I missed. I did not care for the book. I believed I understood what I thought he was saying but I felt it left out too much. It did not appear "complete", so to speak. Several years later, maybe 1992, I started to follow a fellow who turned out to have purchased the directorship as it was offered in the late 1980s. By then, Wilder had dropped the fee to $10K.

So after meeting with this fellow, perhaps around 1994, he taught me how to trade his way which included a dose of a modified Delta....for lack of a better description. So I picked it up quickly, because I always liked the concept. It is not what Wilder holds forward but it is very similar to his Short-Term Delta, or so it appears.

Now that I have said all of that it could be summed up by saying that I have always liked the concept but never found any way to learn it to my satisfaction. For XTreme Delta you might try Dr. Al Larsen, AKA "Hans Hannula". He is of a mind that Wilder's bit of the puzzle is only a small piece.

As with Wilder, I have been tempted to try one of Larsen's offerings. However at this time it's not the money but the years. After all this time I do not wish to learn something new. Firstly because I do not have time to even balance a checkbook and secondly because if I did have the time I would find a less difficult way of spending it. Besides, Larsen uses a lot of planetary aspects in his work. I watched my wife learn the mathematics required for Astrology and it ain't a pretty thing to see.

Larsen gives free clinics each Friday, if you like I can find a link.
