Your analysis is accurate and balanced. At least it recognizes the possible short term downside.

We have ALL been waiting for some blow out announcement for the past year in regards to QCOM...which was the reason many of us have held. It has not come and I see no reason why it would come soon. There have been so many damn rumors that I think both the market and individual investors (who are not of the ltb&h mindset) are not interested in buying at this point. Another "interesting" comment was thrown around last year too.

What is my main concern is that the market is currently in the process of readjusting PE's. QCOM is still out of line in terms of what we know now. Yes, a lot of the froth has been taken out, but at this point I see no reason to take undo risks when the market could hand my head to me over night.

The actual rollout of 1x in Korea is still not clear. The confusion over the market share reduction battle just adds uncertainty to it all. On top of that there are still no applications, let alone adequate handsets to take advantage of one, that would cause the ground swell of consumer demand for wireless goodies. People have their phones that work SOMETIMES and I think that will be about it for the time being.

Strike me down now, but is it possible that the GSM cabal will suceed in delaying worldwide wireless long enough to neuter QCOM's outstanding technological lead? It is a thought I care not to dwell on...because that would suck big time.
