OT - here's a link to the Catholic school shooting. This time it's a girl - unusual. I think girls tend to internalize their feelings when they're picked on, and their anger usually expresses in more self-destructive ways.

Mark, we have a 4 1/2 year old son, and in September we are sending him to a small private school that uses an Integrated Day structure. Kids learn at their own pace, by themselves and on projects with other kids, so they are exposed early to the give and take of working with others. They are also given a great deal of autonomy in choosing projects to work on, so they can explore their own interests. Parent involvement in school activities (not homework!) is required, which I think is key. Where the heck was that CA boy's father, anyway?
