Thanks for the exposition of nihilism. In the end, it all means nothing.....

You seem to believe there is correspondence between having an end (to individual life), and meaning during life. Not true. Life is flooded with meaning. One would have to be a fool to miss it.

It may indeed be true that your life will eventually have no meaning once there is no-one to remember it. This is hardly a novel thought.

As far as nihilism goes. Your position is a nihilistic one in that you believe that, in the absence of eternal life--"In the end, it all means nothing.....". You then lock this in with the recognition that few (if any), could ever realize such a certainty, which means your belief is nihilistic even if your hope is something different. My questioning led you to this a few posts back, but you sidestepped facing this truth about yourself.

Nihilism is not a simplistic concept or belief system. It encompasses a broad spectrum of beliefs. I am not a nihilist. I believe that life has incredible meaning. ONly a fool could pick up their child for a hug and say: "Because we don't have eternal life...this has no meaning. What tripe." We can only have eternal meaning if eternity remembers us, or if we live forever. My life, can have meaning without any of these requirements. I find the random assertion of eternity as a basis for a meaningful life as illogical.

It is terrible to live life as if it were meaningless. Why don't you read this, and see if it may not help you to appreciate the meaning in the wonderful people and the inspiring environment which surround around you 24 hours a day?
