limtex, that is not what we have been saying, of course you charge cost of goods to revenues on the balance sheet. The question you had is where is the cost of inventories accounted for, and I have explained quite clearly, "unprocessed materials" is not charged on th income statement (except some purchasing overhead, typically 15% of the material costs), the cost in vested in " Work in process" and in "finished goods" is charged (on the income statement) as COGS when these costs are incurred, not when the good are finally sold. If you did not charge it there, you will have added assets to your balance sheet (invenmtories) for which you have no charges.
