JC and thread:

I just read a 72 page paper (dated June 2000) from Wasserstein Perella Securities entitled "E2E, New Product Development Drives Value Creation: The Untold Breakthroughs in E-Engineering". The main points of the paper are: (1) in 2000-2005 period, the automakers will shorten product development cycle from 36 months to 18 months, (2) total saving, from better capital deployment and improved components, will average about $1100 per car.

The aim of the paper presumably is to suggest that auto stocks will be good investment. For us WIND investors, the encouraging news is the great speedup in the time-to-market projected. This, together with WIND's 3/05 announcement of availability of Tornado for OSEKWorks on Infineon and STM microcontrollers, suggests that WIND's automotive vertical will start to do better. ... Comments?

Regards.
