I am reminded of a marketing story I heard years ago. The makers of 409 Cleaner found out, ahead of time, when a company would be test marketing a new product to compete with 409. A month before that, they stock supermakets with a special offer: 1 pump bottle of 409 and a free gallon of refil cleaner. When the test makret hit the stores, people already had a 3 month supply of cleaner at home.
