hb - ...the only stock buyback plans i have seen and liked over the past two or so years were those of UST (announced at $18) and BS (announced with the stock below 2). THAT makes sense...buy back shares when they're CHEAP and undervalued. ... If a company has permanent authorization for buybacks and only makes purchases when the projected rate of future return on the stock purchase is significantly greater than that of any alternate use of shareholder funds there is no justified complaint, IMO.
