SkyTel Puts 10,000 SkyWord Plus Units in Service

JACKSON, MISS. (June 6) BUSINESS WIRE -June 6, 1997--SkyTel, a
subsidiary of Mobile Telecommunication Technologies, Corp.
(NASDAQ:MTEL), announced today that it has added over 10,000
subscribers to the company's latest Advanced Messaging service,
SkyWord(R) Plus. Introduced April 29, 1997, SkyWord Plus guarantees
message delivery and includes MessageMender(TM) which automatically
corrects garbled messages.

"With its guaranteed delivery and message correction features, SkyWord
Plus will set a new industry standard for wireless messaging," said
John T. Stupka, Mtel president and CEO. "As more people experience
this service and as Mtel's resellers complete their service
introductions, we anticipate the pace of sales to accelerate further."

Mtel's 52 resellers include AirTouch Paging, American Paging, Ameritech
Cellular and Paging, Arch Communications Group, Inc., AT&T Wireless
Services, Inc., Bell Atlantic/NYNEX Mobile Systems, GTE Telephone
Operations, MCI Telecommunications Corporation and ProNet, Inc.

"Studies have shown that customers want low cost, high quality
messaging services." Stupka continued. "The early acceptance of
SkyWord Plus by consumers confirms this and further strengthens our
confidence in our Advanced Messaging products and the potential market
for all types of narrowband PCS services."

SkyWord Plus utilizes the "Store and Deliver" feature of the Mtel
Advanced Messaging network in order to guarantee message delivery.
When subscribers turn their pagers off or travel out of coverage, the
system stores their messages and automatically delivers them when the
pager is turned back on or back in range.

The service is delivered via the new Motorola PageFinder pager.
Customers may rent these units for $10 a month or purchase them for
$150. Purchasers will receive an incentive package, which includes an
activation fee waiver, coupons for free basic service during the
twelfth and twenty-fourth months of their subscriptions, and a two year
