Victor,

I believe we are killing this issue. It is clear I think that the recent few years in the market has caused a great deal of damage to a large number of people. I agree with you that these people likely should have have taken risks above and beyond what they could afford to lose. My stance is these people were not all innocent victoms. They were in the market long or short having greed in mind.

I agree it boggles the mind. My gripe is the market for those years was manic enough to permit many company managers to hype their firm to a much greater degree than had been possible in the past. I am not advocating new laws to prevent this because we are back to legislating everything and I agree that is not good.

I just believe that the greed of management was unethical by misleading those that did not understand. My focus for this conversation has been on Bezos because I truly feel he was the best. However, there were thousands just like him but not nearly as good bu they caused a great deal of harm too. There will always be people out there too greedy to not know better to protect themselves.

I believe in allocating capital for possible firms that good end up doing great things. I also believe the entrepenuer should be compensated well when he or she creates something new and good that is successful. I do not agree that people should become multi-millionaires by runing companys that never have and never will turn a profit.

The truck driver should have known better. The managers should be more ethical. My focus on Bezos is also due to the high profile of the firm and the amount of resources that were allocated to him. I believe it was enough money to buy the entire city in which I live and then some and he still could not turn a profit. That is really bad. Worse yet, he seems to think it is fine to take home $60+ million dollars for doing that and he is not done taking money home.
