Asudauer, re: "CompactFlash prices are really coming down."

Am I wrong or didn't SNDK predict pricing for 2001 at the $1.25-$1.50/MB level back in 1999? Heck ... I just bought a 256MB PC133 DIMM for $79. It is reassuring that SNDK can retail 1/4th as much flash memory for more money.

FYI, www.newegg.com is selling 64MB Kingston CF cards are $70. They also have SNDK cards on the cheap.

Craig

PS Anyone with less than 128MB of RAM in their PC should take advantage of today's memory pricing. Spend <$50 to add 128MB to your PC and enjoy significantly better performance. If you're a novice, try www.crucial.com Their web site takes the risk out of upgrading. Buy one extra 128MB SDRAM DIMM and plug it in. It really is that simple!

If you have a choice, never buy the cheapest memory. Select something that costs 10-20% more. You'll get a lifetime warranty, return privileges and fewer problems. For a detailed discussion see www.anandtech.com
