**OT** Taxes
Jerome,
I am reading the NY Times editorial today on taxes. What I don't understand is why reducing the top rate from 39.6 downward is a bad thing. In the 1980's that same top rate was reduced to 28% from 70% along with the removal of most deductions. That bill had bipartisan support. Bill Bradley was a sponsor I believe. Why do we now believe 39.6% is somehow good for the economy? There might be too much income disparity between the very wealthy(silicon valley ceo's and nba stars) and the lower and middle classes. I agree with that, but a 39.6% tax on a low 6 figure income for a married couple--How could that be good?---come on Jerome help me out..... Mike
