re puts and shorts: It was great 2 years ago when Landis of Firsthand funds took a huge stake in WIND. The downside of that move is that there's a lot of talk now about hedge funds shorting Landis' stocks (as well as Janus' and others ) in order to force redemptions and cause him to sell these stocks. They are hoping for a viscious spiralling effect of shorting begetting redemptions begetting selling begetting redemptions etc. Unfortunately WIND is now probably bunched in with PMCS, JDSU etc. as good short candidate for just this reason alone.
