All major media outlets, whether online or in 3D, are reporting earnings shortfalls due to drops in advertising revenues. Not just Yahoo, but the New York Times, the Washington Post, NBC, Fox, CNN, are the ones which come to mind just off the top of my head.

Now here is a business model we don't seem to have discussed - you know how people put links to books on Amazon on their websites? If you join Amazon's Associates program, you get a referral fee for every book that is bought via a clickthrough from your site. Referral fees, discounts, free shipping - is this any way to run a business? Apparently not.
